LIFE et BirdLife unissent leurs forces pour lutter contre les prises accessoires d'oiseaux de mer

Seabirds forage in highly productive areas of the ocean, which are also targeted by commercial fishing vessels. This overlap can cause them to be accidentally caught on hooks, or entangled in nets. For small-scale low impact fishers, such incidental by-catches of seabirds represent a potential danger to life and limb. For this reason, LIFE and BirdLife are jointly asking the MEPs of the European Parliament to tackle the problem with appropriate management measures within the framework of the Technical Measures 2016/0074(COD)) Regulation.
