Detta tillv\u00e4gag\u00e5ngss\u00e4tt bygger p\u00e5 en sund milj\u00f6m\u00e4ssig och ekonomisk logik: genom att anv\u00e4nda r\u00e4tt redskap, p\u00e5 r\u00e4tt plats vid r\u00e4tt tidpunkt kan storskaligt skonsamt fiske ge en s\u00e4songsm\u00e4ssigt varierad f\u00e5ngst, inom gr\u00e4nserna f\u00f6r fiskbest\u00e5ndens f\u00f6rm\u00e5ga att v\u00e4xa och reproducera sig, samtidigt som de s\u00e4krar ett r\u00e4ttvist pris f\u00f6r sin fisk.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span lang=\"en-GB\">I egenskap av priss\u00e4ttare kan de dra nytta av det merv\u00e4rde de tillf\u00f6r sin f\u00e5ngst: att erbjuda en daglig f\u00e5ngst av f\u00e4rsk fisk av h\u00f6g kvalitet, i s\u00e4song, lokalt f\u00e5ngad med traditionella metoder, samt att uppr\u00e4tth\u00e5lla ett rikt kulturarv. Allt detta \u00e4r v\u00e4l \u00e4nd\u00e5 v\u00e4rt att investera i genom att betala ett sk\u00e4ligt pris direkt till fiskarna?<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span lang=\"en-GB\">Logiken bakom storskaligt fiske med liten milj\u00f6p\u00e5verkan och l\u00e5ga volymer st\u00e5r i skarp kontrast till ett mer intensivt fiske med h\u00f6g milj\u00f6p\u00e5verkan och stora volymer. Det senare tj\u00e4nar sina pengar p\u00e5 volym snarare \u00e4n p\u00e5 v\u00e4rde. De \u00e4r beroende av att f\u00e5nga flera ton fisk per dag och s\u00e4lja till massmarknader, d\u00e4r de har r\u00e5d att acceptera de priser som erbjuds. De stora m\u00e4ngder fisk som f\u00e5ngas av denna sektor har en pressande inverkan p\u00e5 marknadspriserna och, om de inte f\u00f6rvaltas p\u00e5 r\u00e4tt s\u00e4tt, en pressande inverkan p\u00e5 fiskbest\u00e5nden.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span lang=\"en-GB\">De flesta europeiska konsumenter valde alternativet med stor volym och l\u00e5gt v\u00e4rde genom att k\u00f6pa sin fisk i stormarknader, d\u00e4r de f\u00f6redrog fryst fisk framf\u00f6r f\u00e4rsk, importfisk (70%) framf\u00f6r lokalt f\u00e5ngad fisk (30%) samt fem huvudarter \u2013 framf\u00f6r allt tonfisk, lax, torsk, alaskapollack och r\u00e4kor framf\u00f6r alla andra, och f\u00f6rlitar sig p\u00e5 energikr\u00e4vande, resurssl\u00f6sande just-in-time-f\u00f6rs\u00f6rjningskedjor.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"en-GB\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span lang=\"en-GB\">F\u00f6r tv\u00e5 veckor sedan kom den perversa naturen hos intensiv storskalig fiske i dager i form av en enorm f\u00e5ngst gjord av fiskefartyget War Raog IV. Fartyget \u00e4r registrerat i Frankrike, men \u00e4gs i sj\u00e4lva verket av det nederl\u00e4ndska multinationella f\u00f6retaget Cornelis Vrolijk, som \u00e4r medlem i Pelagic Freezer Trawler Association (PFA), \u00e4garna till n\u00e5gra av v\u00e4rldens st\u00f6rsta, kraftfullaste och effektivaste storskaliga fiskefartyg. De ekonomiska kostnaderna f\u00f6r att underh\u00e5lla s\u00e5dana fartyg tvingar dem att forts\u00e4tta fiska, med en ekonomisk logik som bygger p\u00e5 att g\u00f6ra storvinst \u2013 med en \u00e5rlig vinst p\u00e5 miljontals euro.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span lang=\"en-GB\">War Roag IV \u00e4r en 17 meter l\u00e5ng ringnotb\u00e5t med en lastkapacitet p\u00e5 cirka 30 ton.
