Het ontwerpproject is in september 2024 ter raadpleging voorgelegd aan de leden van de adviesraad voor de Oostzee.<\/p>\n<p>Gezonde haringbestanden zijn essentieel voor het ecosysteem van de Oostzee, maar toch zijn er negatieve trends waargenomen in alle deelsectoren van de Oostzee langs de Zweedse kust. Deze omvatten een afnemende leeftijds- en groottestructuur, evenals een afname in biomassa en abundantie. Dit wetenschappelijke project wil beoordelen of maatregelen voor ruimtelijk visserijbeheer de toestand van de haringbestanden langs de Zweedse kust kunnen verbeteren.<\/p>\n<p>In een voorgesteld studiegebied in het centrale deel van de Oostzee zullen de jaarlijkse vangstbeperkingen voor EU-vaartuigen met gesleept vistuig voor pelagische bestanden worden getest, met een uitzondering voor vaartuigen van minder dan 24 meter die gericht vissen op vis voor directe menselijke consumptie. Als opdracht van de Zweedse overheid zal het project zich richten op de Zweedse visserij, met voorgestelde visserijverordeningen die moeten worden uitgevoerd als nationale maatregelen in het kader van artikel 20 van de basisverordening.<\/p>\n<p>Het project heeft als doel de effectiviteit van maatregelen voor ruimtelijk visserijbeheer te evalueren en, indien succesvol, voor te stellen hoe dergelijke maatregelen de gezondheid van haringbestanden in de Oostzee kunnen helpen verbeteren.
