{"id":21204,"date":"2024-07-16T13:43:38","date_gmt":"2024-07-16T13:43:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lifeplatform.eu\/?p=21204"},"modified":"2024-07-17T11:14:51","modified_gmt":"2024-07-17T11:14:51","slug":"baltic-sea-total-allowable-catch-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lifeplatform.eu\/nl\/baltic-sea-total-allowable-catch-2025\/","title":{"rendered":"Oostzee: Totaal toegestane vangst 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Na de invoering van noodmaatregelen in de Oostzee om de kabeljauwbestanden vijf jaar geleden te beschermen, is de situatie alleen maar verslechterd en er is geen reden voor optimisme dat de situatie binnenkort zal verbeteren, <a href=\"https:\/\/lifeplatform.eu\/nl\/baltic-emergency-no-fishers-of-the-future-without-fish-in-the-future\/\">zoals we hebben aangepakt tijdens het evenement \"Baltic emergency\" dat in juni in Brussel werd gehouden.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Op 31 mei heeft de Internationale Raad voor het onderzoek van de zee (ICES) zijn wetenschappelijk advies gepubliceerd over de hoeveelheid vis die volgend jaar (2025) uit de Oostzee kan worden gehaald. Dit advies is opgesteld om de Europese Commissie (EC) en de<br \/>\nAgriFish Council bij het vaststellen van de vangstmogelijkheden voor 2025, en het voorstel van de EC over de vangstmogelijkheden in de Oostzee, dat eind augustus wordt gepubliceerd.<\/p>\n<p>Uit het ICES-advies blijkt dat de meeste bestanden zich niet herstellen of zelfs verder achteruitgaan. Sprot is nu toegevoegd aan kabeljauw en westelijke haring als soorten met historisch lage niveaus. Hoewel LIFE blij is met het advies van de ICES om de vangstniveaus te verlagen, zijn we bezorgd dat dit advies niet ver genoeg gaat, dat het oogkleppen op heeft en niet verder kan gaan dan een simpele aanpak voor \u00e9\u00e9n soort.<\/p>\n<p>Hoewel de quota voor de gerichte visserij zijn verlaagd, heeft de ICES in zijn aanbevelingen geen rekening gehouden met de gevolgen van natuurlijke sterfte (met name predatie door aalscholvers en zeehonden) en sterfte door bijvangst. In het geval van kabeljauw wordt de vis nog steeds in grote hoeveelheden gevangen in de demersale trawlvisserij op platvis (bot en schol). Bij deze visserij wordt veel meer kabeljauw gevangen (en teruggegooid) als bijvangst dan bij de visserij op kabeljauw.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Om deze redenen stelt LIFE dat in de zeegebieden 21-32 de visserij op kabeljauw, schol en westelijke haring moet worden gesloten voor alle vloten en alle soorten vistuig, met uitzondering van kleinschalige vloten met een geringe impact die passief vistuig gebruiken.
