{"id":19980,"date":"2023-02-01T15:54:14","date_gmt":"2023-02-01T15:54:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lifeplatform.eu\/?p=19980"},"modified":"2023-02-01T16:01:56","modified_gmt":"2023-02-01T16:01:56","slug":"life-calls-for-a-revision-of-the-baltic-sea-map","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lifeplatform.eu\/nl\/life-calls-for-a-revision-of-the-baltic-sea-map\/","title":{"rendered":"LIFE vraagt om een herziening van het MAP voor de Oostzee"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Deze maand hield het Europees Parlement een <a href=\"https:\/\/multimedia.europarl.europa.eu\/en\/webstreaming\/committee-on-fisheries_20230123-1500-COMMITTEE-PECH\">gehoor<\/a> over de status van het meerjarenplan (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fishsec.org\/app\/uploads\/2016\/10\/Baltic-MAP-final.pdf\">MAP<\/a>) voor de Oostzee. Belanghebbenden uit de regio werden uitgenodigd om hun standpunt en zorgen te delen, waaronder LIFE, dat werd vertegenwoordigd door een presentatie over kleinschalige vissers in de Oostzee door Katarzyna Stepanowska. Zij gaf details over de decennialange achteruitgang van de kabeljauw in de Oostzee.<\/p>\n<p>Tijdens de hoorzitting werd duidelijk dat de belanghebbenden het MAP, dat in 2016 werd aangenomen om kabeljauw, haring en sprot duurzaam te beheren, als een mislukking beschouwen. Jarek Zieli\u0144ski, voorzitter van de BSAC (Baltic Sea Advisory Council), zei dat BSAC-leden een hervorming van het beheersplan steunen. Cathrine Pedersen Schirmer van de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dn.dk\/home\/english-page\/\">Deense vereniging voor natuurbehoud<\/a> betoogde dat de drie wettelijke doelstellingen van het MOP niet waren uitgevoerd.<\/p>\n<p>Bovendien heeft het MAP de kleinschalige vissers, die qua aantal vaartuigen meer dan 90% van de vloot uitmaken en voor 65% aan banen op zee zorgen, maar slechts 7% van de vangst ontvangen, onvoldoende beschermd.  Tot overmaat van ramp is 90 % van de uit de Oostzee gewonnen visbiomassa bestemd voor industri\u00eble verwerking, hoofdzakelijk als vismeel en visolie voor diervoeder.<\/p>\n<p>Vesa Tschernij van de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.simrishamn.se\/om-kommunen\/marint-centrum\">Simrishamn Gemeente Maritiem Centrum<\/a>, Zweden, wees op het schrille contrast tussen voedsel- en verminderingsvisserij, en merkte op dat er elf keer meer vis nodig is om hetzelfde inkomen uit verminderingsvisserij te genereren.<\/p>\n<p>Tegen deze achtergrond roept LIFE op tot een herziening van het MAP voor de Oostzee om er een herstelplan voor kabeljauw en maatregelen voor het beheer van schol en bot in op te nemen, die belangrijk zijn geworden maar niet in de oorspronkelijke versie van het MAP waren opgenomen.<\/p>\n<!--themify_builder_content-->\n<div id=\"themify_builder_content-19980\" data-postid=\"19980\" class=\"themify_builder_content themify_builder_content-19980 themify_builder tf_clear\">\n    <\/div>\n<!--\/themify_builder_content-->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Deze maand hield het Europees Parlement een hoorzitting over de status van het meerjarenplan voor de Oostzee.
