Op 15 oktober is het de Internationale Dag van de Plattelandsvrouwen en de regering van de Balearen heeft zich bij deze viering aangesloten door de eerste Dag van het Gelijkheidsplan van de Balearen (Spanje) te organiseren.<\/p>\n

In de primaire sector zijn vrouwen vertegenwoordigd in de sectoren landbouw, veeteelt, visserij en agrovoeding. Van alle subsectoren is de aanwezigheid van vrouwen volgens de statistieken van de regering van de Balearen in de visserijsector een minderheid, met slechts 2% aan vrouwelijke bemanningsleden en 7% aan vrouwen die werkzaam zijn in de waardeketen van de visserijsector.<\/p>\n

De regionale minister van Landbouw, Visserij en Voedselvoorziening, Mae de la Concha, opende de conferentie met een toelichting op het belang van versterking van het leiderschap en de zichtbaarheid van vrouwen in de sectoren waaruit de primaire sector bestaat. \"Vrouwen zijn er altijd geweest, maar niet als eigenaren van landbouwbedrijven, als eigenaars, als volwaardige loontrekkers, ze staan ook niet op veel sociale zekerheidslijsten, en ze hebben vaak belachelijke pensioenen, na een leven lang werken, niet alleen op het land en op zee, maar ook voor het huis en het gezin zorgen\".<\/p>\n

Anna Masdeu Lalanza, LIFE-co\u00f6rdinator op de Balearen, nam deel aan de eerste vrouwenronde over het leiderschap van vrouwen in de primaire sector. Zij gaf haar visie op de rol van vrouwen in de mediterrane visserijsector en sprak over haar ervaring als vrouw in de agrovoedingssector en de visserij, waarin zij haar carri\u00e8re als beroepsvrouw heeft doorgebracht.<\/p>\n

Vissersvrouwen van Ibiza en Menorca hebben hun getuigenissen afgelegd en gewezen op de noodzaak om hun visserijprogramma's te combineren met hun gezinnen en op de noodzaak van sociale of economische steun om deze productieve activiteit, waarvoor zij een passie hebben en die zij niet willen opgeven, te kunnen blijven uitoefenen.<\/p>\n

De directeur-generaal Visserij van de Balearen, Joan Mercant, de voorzitter van de federatie van vissersgilden van de Balearen, Domingo Bonin, en de voorzitter van de Spaanse federatie van vissersgilden, Basilio Ortega, waren het eens over de waardering van de rol van vrouwen in de visserijsector.<\/p>\n

Het hoofd van het bureau van het regionale ministerie van Landbouw, Visserij en Voedselvoorziening, Mar Mas, presenteerde het Plan voor gelijkheid op de Balearen als instrument voor co\u00f6peraties, vissersgilden en landbouworganisaties om de deelname en aanwezigheid van vrouwen in de besluitvorming in de primaire sector op de Balearen te bevorderen.<\/p>\n

Bij de tweede fotowedstrijd \"Van de zee en het land\" werden prijzen uitgereikt. Twee jonge vissersvrouwen uit Ciudadela (Menorca) wonnen drie prijzen in de categorie visserij.<\/p>\n
