{"id":7169,"date":"2016-12-02T14:24:44","date_gmt":"2016-12-02T14:24:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/lifeplatform.eu\/?p=7169"},"modified":"2016-12-02T14:42:50","modified_gmt":"2016-12-02T14:42:50","slug":"correspondence-vella-tuna-quota","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lifeplatform.eu\/ma\/correspondence-vella-tuna-quota\/","title":{"rendered":"Correspondence with Vella on Tuna Quota"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Allocation of Artisanal Bluefin Tuna Quota: Commissioner Vella commits to addressing this regularly with MS to ensure that CFP provisions for a fair allocation of quota are correctly applied.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In an <strong>exchange of letters between LIFE and Commissioner Vella<\/strong> concerning the allocation of a dedicated, non-transferable Bluefin tuna quota for small scale hook and line fishers just prior to and post the ICCAT Annual meeting in Vilamoura, Portugal from November 14 to 21, Commissioner Vella explained that ICCAT decides on Bluefin quota allocations amongst the Contracting Parties (CPCs), <strong>not on the allocation of these quotas between the various sectors within a given CPC<\/strong>.
