Il- Energy Transition Partnership (ETP)<\/strong> of the European Commission has published its joint and sector-specific recommendations<\/strong><\/a>, developed to inform the forthcoming Energy Transition Roadmap for fisheries and aquaculture<\/strong> towards climate neutrality by 2050.<\/p>\n

The recommendations were prepared through the work of the ETP Support Groups, which brought together fishers, stakeholder organisations, researchers and other experts to identify key priorities and challenges for the sector.<\/p>\n

Il- Small-Scale Fisheries (SSF) Working Group<\/strong> played an important role in this process. Its recommendations reflect the collective input of small-scale fishers and LIFE members from across Europe, who contributed their experience, knowledge and perspectives to the discussions. Their engagement helped ensure that the realities of small-scale, low-impact fisheries were clearly articulated, including the importance of healthy fish stocks, fair access to resources, differentiated approaches to the energy transition and the need for tailored public support.<\/p>\n

LIFE would like to thank all small-scale fishers and member organisations<\/strong> who dedicated time and effort to this process, as well as Marta Cavall\u00e9, LIFE Executive Secretary,<\/strong> who coordinated the work of the Small-Scale Fisheries Working Group.<\/p>\n

The ETP recommendations will feed into discussions at the high-level Energy Transition Partnership Conference<\/strong>, taking place on 17 February 2026 in Brussels<\/strong>.<\/a> LIFE will continue to follow this process closely and engage on behalf of small-scale fishers.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
