Teknikken kr\u00e6ver, at redskabet s\u00e6ttes rundt om fiskestimerne, som skal lokaliseres med det blotte \u00f8je. Da havbars har en tendens til at opholde sig sammen med multestimer, er den blevet en vigtig bifangst for tr\u00e6ngte, sm\u00e5 multefiskere. I de senere \u00e5r er multestimerne svundet ind, mens forekomsten af havbars er steget i nederlandske farvande. Som f\u00f8lge heraf fanger GNC-fiskere stigende m\u00e6ngder havbars.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-17189 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/lifeplatform.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/NL_gillnet-300x137.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"137\" srcset=\"https:\/\/lifeplatform.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/NL_gillnet-300x137.jpg 300w, https:\/\/lifeplatform.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/NL_gillnet.jpg 775w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>Betragtet den korte tid, fiskene er i nettene, er fiskenes kvalitet meget god. Da den eneste fremdrift, der er n\u00f8dvendig, er til lokalisering og indkredsning af fiskestimerne, og da nettene er meget lette, er energiforbruget lavt. En anden stor fordel ved redskabet for fiskeriet er den relativt lave bifangst.<strong> Den store maskest\u00f8rrelse sikrer ogs\u00e5, at 99% af fiskene er st\u00f8rre end mindstelandingsst\u00f8rrelsen<\/strong>. Et klart tilf\u00e6lde af det rette udstyr til det rette sted p\u00e5 det rette tidspunkt.<\/p>\n<p>Men til trods for disse fordele, og til trods for den traditionelle anvendelse af redskabet og fiskernes fangsthistorik for havbars for 2015 og 2016, undlod de nederlandske myndigheder at informere Europa-Kommissionen og R\u00e5det om redskabet. <strong>GNC-fiskerne var derfor m\u00e5ll\u00f8se over at se sig udelukket fra de redskaber, der var tilladt til at fange havbars under bevaringsforanstaltninger indf\u00f8rt i 2017.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Deres sag blev taget op af fiskeriforeningen netVISwerk, en partnerorganisation for LIFE i Nederlandene<\/strong>. Takket v\u00e6re deres intensive lobbyarbejde, <strong>Tre \u00e5r senere blev denne traditionelle fisketeknik endelig anerkendt og indlemmet i reguleringen i 2020 som et tilladt redskab til havbarsfiskeri<\/strong>. Over de foreg\u00e5ende 3 \u00e5r er fiskere, der bruger ringnot-garn (encircling gill net), blevet ber\u00f8vet en fangstkvote af havbars uden nogen form for kompensation.
